Not All Heroes Wear Capes
Since 1974, National Volunteer Week has been a chance to appreciate all the wonderful work that volunteers do around America. Here at The WASH Foundation, we can’t appreciate our volunteers enough! It is thanks to the passion of the people in our communities that we are able to continue our mission and provide WASH access to vulnerable populations all over the world.
Most often, volunteers at our locations in Las Vegas and Orlando help us sort through the hygiene products we receive from our thousands of hotel partners every day. In a single month, we need 1,000 volunteers to keep everything running smoothly in our Orlando warehouse. We like to say that our volunteers are more than just volunteers – they’re Soaper Heroes.
“Being able to serve at Clean the World helps our family do our part to make the world a cleaner, healthier place. It has made me think twice about finding ways to recycle or re-purpose items in our home. We’re happy to support Clean the World because we know that it makes a difference to people in our neighborhood and across the globe
Thank you!”

In 2019 alone, we’ve had 3,035 Soaper Heroes join us for a total of 7,008 hours! Thanks to all of you, we’ve recycled 435,000 pounds of mixed products and distributed 905,597 bars of soap within the first three months of the year.
These bars of soap go to a number of places. So far this year, our bars have made it to Nebraska to assist those displaced by flooding, to Somalia for local populations without access to hygiene products through our partnership with HHRD, to the homeless population in our home town of Orlando, to the Philippines through Children International, and more.
Our mission to improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations around the world is realized every day. This mission and the impact we have made wouldn’t be possible without the support of our Soaper Heroes.
From the bottom of our soap bins – thank you.
