Earthquake Disaster response in Venezuela

Disaster response

When natural disasters strike – hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, and floods – The WASH Foundation partners with local organizations and governments on the ground to provide affected communities with hygiene supplies, access to clean water, and other essential materials. We respond to emergencies across the United States and the Caribbean, working alongside trusted local partners who know their communities best.

We do not wait for disaster to strike. Through strategic partnerships, The WASH Foundation pre-positions hygiene supplies in key locations so that when emergencies occur, our partners can mobilize quickly and get critical resources to affected communities, in many cases, with no delay.

During these emergencies, infectious diseases often surge due to the displacement of large populations, inadequate water and sanitation, and limited access to healthcare. Research shows that prioritizing primary healthcare delivery alongside proper water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) is one of the most effective methods of prevention and control in disaster settings.

Through our Disaster Response Program, our goal is to distribute hygiene supplies and ensure these materials are delivered quickly — mitigating the impact of disasters on the communities we serve. At The WASH Foundation, we are committed to providing immediate assistance when emergencies strike.
